1. Calorie deficit
This is the driving force behind fat loss
Essentially burning more calories that you consume on a daily basis
How do achieve this?
You can either reduce the amount of calories you eat or burn more calories by exercising more
We like to do both so its achieved faster
If you are not losing body fat, you are not in a calorie deficit. Simple.
Practical takeaway: How much are you eating right now? Try and reduce this from the get go
2. Lift weights in the gym
For us, this is a key fundamental you need when you're looking to lose body fat
It's why the majority of the sessions with us are based on weight training
Why?
Because it helps with fat loss
How? By holding onto muscle and also building muscle
This is crucial because we want to lose body fat and not muscle
You will end up with a more toned look and find you burn more body fat
Don't be scared of lifting weights
3. Increase activity outside the gym
We always recommend you increase your step count in the days away from the gym
You burn more calories by increasing activity which helps you burn more fat
If you have a desk job for example and you are struggling to lose weight...
You are either still eating too much for the amount you move or you're not moving enough
Usually a combination of the two
So wherever, whenever try and walk more
All of these 3 things are simple to understand but can be difficult to implement consistently
